Symbiosis
Symbiosis is Covivio’s urban regeneration project that transforms an historically strategic area for Milan’s economic growth with a vocation for industry and manufacturing into a new mixed-use urban centre. Designed based on a masterplan by ACPV architecture firm, Symbiosis, which already houses the offices of important multinationals, covers an area of 130,000 m2 south of Porta Romana.
BY NAME AND BY NATURE
The name sums up the project’s intentions: to create interaction and synergies between users of the district to connect the public and private sectors. Part of ‘Sharing Cities’, Symbiosis follows the guidelines set by Horizon 2020, a European research and innovation programme, putting into practice an innovative approach to meet the environmental challenges of our times.
WITH MILANO
Symbiosis is perfectly knit into the urban fabric and is located in the centre of a creative, evolving area. Showrooms, museums, universities, research centres and international destinations, such as Fondazione Prada and Talent Garden create the perfect setting for growth. The next major project in the area will be the regeneration of the former Porta Romana railway yard, which offers a wonderful opportunity for boosting the neighbourhood in the name of sustainability, thanks to a partnership between Covivio, Coima and Prada Holding S.p.A. This important project will further connect the entire district into the urban fabric, bringing Symbiosis even closer to the city centre.
