Piazza olivetti
A new
URBAN DESTINATION

A 13,000 square metre public square dedicated to the visionary genius of Adriano Olivetti. A place for social and cultural aggregation like an authentic agora where people exchange experiences and share knowledge. The landscaping project was designed by landscape architect Carlo Masera, who created a Ruderal Garden to strengthen bons with the area’s agricultural origins. It is planted with typical local species of spontaneous vegetation which, since they blossom at different times, ensure the garden is always lush and welcoming, guaranteeing its biodiversity. The system of water basins, on the other hand, accomodates water lilies, aquatic vegetation and fauna, welcoming nature back to the city. A public park completes the area with an urban forest covering over 9,000 square metres to help sustainable urban regeneration in the area.

Biodiversity thrives where water flows: water lilies and water irises bloom in the ponds, reeds and reed beds float in the rivers and willows and alders grow on the higher banks.

More than just technology: Piazza Olivetti is pedestrianised and tree-lined with seasonal ruderal gardens and ponds. A small botanical paradise in the city.

An urban landscape that preserves both nature and culture: landscape architect Carlo Masera’s design for Piazza Olivetti creates an ecosystem in perfect harmony.
